During my research I found that this theater was first under construction in 1920 by two gentlemen named Barry Sisk and Walter James in the town of Cherokee Iowa. Unfortunately they ran out of money and the construction halted. In 1923, Dale Goldie bought this property at a Sheriffs auction and finished construction in 1925 and opened it to the public. The current owner is F L Fridley Theaters Inc. The theater was one of the first major buildings in the town to be cooled with a large water and fan system. The basement was also used to store civil defense supplies and they are still there. The building itself has a lot of history. There have been some claims of paranormal activity. There have not been any tragedies found so far. But if this land was Cherokee owned before then anything is possible. I have more information for you after the investigation.
